Yellow and Green Zucchini Curry

This is one of my favorite dishes! I love zucchini - grilled, cooked, baked, as a cream-soup etc... This dish is very light and easy to cook, great as a side dish or as a light main course.

This recipe comes from one of my favorite cook-book (and a lot others are yet to come!).  So I basically translate it for you into english.

For 4 Portions you need:

2 yellow zucchini
2 green zucchini
1 Tee spoon Coriander Seeds
2 Table spoons Ghee (or other oil)
2 Table spoons Ginger
1/2 tee spoon cumin
1/2 tee spoon curcuma
1/2 tee spoon garam masala
1 cup coconut milch
salt, pepper, chives

What to do:

Fry Coriander Seed on a dry pan, then mill them. Let Ghee get warm on the pan, add ginger and cumin, fry it for about 2-3 minutes. Add zucchini and cook for another 5 minutes. Add garam masala, curcuma, coriander seeds, salt and pepper, coconut milch and cook all together for 10 minutes - till zucchini are ready. Serve with chives or other greens.

Bon appetit! ;)

Easter - Russian Style

Easter is one of my favorite Fest! It is a very special day - this day it feels like a start of something new, like everything around us is awaking. This day is alway sunny! And the tradition of painting the eggs and baking special cakes (Paska & Kulich) make it so colorful and bright!

This year I baked my first Kulich and cooked my first fresh-cheese Paska.
I am happy to bring russian traditions in our german home!

Let me share just some pictures with you... (the recipes are too complicated, may be i upload them someday later).

Finally it's spring! And it's time for one of my favorite soups - Green Borsch! It's a traditional Russian and Ukrainian spring soup which is cooked without any beets but with a LOT of Sorrel (schavel in rus.)! Now you can find it everywhere, mostly on the farmer markets of cause. But in Metro Cash & Carry they have it as well. Well, let's start and let the spring taste great!

Green Beans

Summer time is a Grill time! And usually I don't think a lot about "what to cook for dinner" simply because in Germany we grill almost every day till it snows... So it's often about a salad or a side-dish.
We just love everything green! For example - green beans with garlic!
Simple and sooo good! Perfect as a side dish or even as a one-dish dinner.

Salat a la Caprese

Traditional Caprese Salad is a combination of tomato, mozzarella cheese and some basil. I use sometime a burrata cheese and a pesto instead of just basil leaves. It's a great accomplishment to any lunch, dinner, grill party etc.
Below you find my secret pesto recipe ;)

Eggplants with Nuts Georgian Style - Step by Step

I love eggplants! Originally i come from south of Russia and there it's a very popular product. South-russian cuisine has also a pretty strong Caucasian influence. In my family we cooked a lot with Georgian spices. I was surprised that my European friends loved the dishes with Caucasian taste.
Here I share with you one of the hits, which is also totally vegan! (hey, Frank ;)
See the step-by-step recipe below...

Maier's - my tasty neighbor!

Before I moved to Germany I already new this brand - they are pretty famous because of their mustard. I was always bringing it as a souvenir from Germany. Recently I found out that Maier's is my neighbor! The production is in Stuttgart (Remstal) And non of my friends has ever heard of them! How comes? So this post is a tip for them, who leave here and don't know about such a cool product. But of cause you can get this magic mustards, dips and sauces not only in our region, but all over the world...
Honestly my favorite is not a mustard but a Dip! It's called "Gut Laune Dip" which means "Good Mood Dip".
And the bruschetta is also wow! Stephan loves it...

Christmas Ginger Bread - where to get the best recipe?

Stephan Koch sells his magic gingerbread at Baroque Christmas market in Ludwigsburg (not far from Stuttgart). Couple of years ago he baked 1 kilometer gingerbread and got with it into Guinness Book of World Records.
But regardless of that fact everybody love his products since long time ago...

He keeps the recipe in secret, but we never mind - I have an other wonderful one here in my blog! Juppi ;)

Here it is: Click! ...and let it smell like Winter at your place!

French plums stuffed with goat cheese

Not really a recipe, but just a nice idea ;) We had something similar in Russia as I was a child - just the combination of plums, nuts and something creamy is already great! Nowadays you can of cause get it ready in a good supermarket, but believe me it tastes much better if you make it yourself!

Pumpkin with dried fruit and cashews

It's autumn - and it's time for warm and cozy food. Also it's a Pumpkin season, which I just love! I cook something with pumpkin every second day: doesn't matter whether it is a salad with baked pumpkin, or a creamy soup with coconut milk - it always makes me happy.
The recipe I'd like to share this time is also our autumn must-have - nothing special, but very flavored and cozy. And it's totally Vegan! I hope you love it as much as I do ;)

All best things are simple

Of course it not a recipe at all. Sometimes (actually most of the times) the best recipe - is just great ingredients and nothing more! I try to get fresh, seasonal products from our region, and fortunately Italy is not that far away...

So, sometime for a lazy sunday lunch is enough just a piece of burrata with aromatic tomato and some basil on top of it, good olive oil, freshly ground pepper and a bit of salt... And a glass of light Rose ;)

I love weekends!
